Communicating with clients who have aphasia can be difficult . . . we can help!
You know your clients with aphasia are competent, intelligent individuals. We will train you how to work with clients who 'know more than they can say' to overcome the communication barriers aphasia creates and re-engage in everyday life. Training is open to all healthcare professionals except where otherwise indicated (with an asterisk*).
Many of the training workshops include resources, materials or manuals. The variable fee schedule is determined by which materials are being used for each training workshop. We hope that you find a training program that suits your needs.
We are now accepting registrations for the following upcoming training opportunities. But space is limited, so register soon to avoid disappointment.
- Full Training*
- Two-day & Three-day Core-Training
- Half-day and Full-day workshops

Aphasia/Communicative Access Community of Practice (CoP)
People with communicative disabilities such as aphasia are often treated as though they are cognitively impaired. They experience severe limitations in their ability to participate in healthcare decisions and interactions. These individuals represent a unique group in the healthcare system.
The purpose of the Communicative Access and Aphasia Community of Practice is to increase the number of professionals and organizations who are providing communicatively accessible services, and to improve knowledge exchange in the field of aphasia through linking caregivers, policy makers, and researchers.
