** Currently offered online only **

In light of COVID-19, Tele-visits are offered in place of home visits. Tele-visits are a phone call between a trained volunteer and a person with aphasia.

Tele-visits help address social isolation and renew self-esteem. *In some circumstances, members and volunteers may use a video conference platform when having these meetings such as Zoom, Facetime or Skype.

The Outreach Program provides support to individuals with Aphasia who may have barriers to attending programs at the Aphasia Institute in person. Home visits are offered from a trained volunteer.

To make a referral to this program, or to be referred to this program, please download and complete (or have your Speech-Language Pathologist complete) our referral form, indicating on the last page the reason(s) for requesting the Outreach Program.

For questions about the Outreach Program, please contact Julia Breneol jbreneol@aphasia.ca or call 416-226-3636 x115.

"I’ve been working at the Aphasia Institute since early 2007 and I love my job. It's incredibly rewarding to work in a collaborative environment where I get to be part of life-changing work for people living with aphasia and the healthcare providers who serve them. I feel affirmed, encouraged and supported as we work together on innovative and dynamic initiatives that accomplish our mission and vision in new, creative and resourceful ways."
