What’s New?

ParticiPics is a free, searchable database of pictographic images designed to facilitate life’s conversations. The pictographs are specially designed for communicating with people with aphasia and are the product of decades of research and experience with people in the aphasia and stroke communities.

The Introduction to Supported Conversation for Adults with Aphasia (SCA™) eLearning is a short self-paced online module.

The techniques demonstrated in this module can enable critical healthcare conversations for patients who know more than they can say. The module includes practical and video examples of concrete techniques based on the evidence-based method called Supported Conversation for Adults with Aphasia (SCA™).

With support from the Ontario Ministry of Health, the Aphasia Institute is able to provide this eLearning module at no cost to healthcare providers and institutions.

Use the Community Hub to register for Training courses with the Aphasia Institute. After registration, you will gain access to resources, tools, information about your training, and will gain a chance to connect with other professionals working with people with aphasia

Thank You

The Aphasia Institute thanks the Ontario Ministry of Health for their major support and the Lampe Family. Without them, the Community Hub would not be possible.

QUESTIONS OR EXPERIENCING DIFFICULTY?

"The value of formal SCATM training has been immense for me – both in practical applications and in “grand ideas” for the future. It has really re-focused my [Speech-Language Pathology] SLP practice on the practical outcome of increasing life participation and independence/autonomy in future conversations. "
